Projective Techniques
When doing our projective technique research, we first came up with the criteria to ask for; we thought of some typical characteristics that one would like to know in a person when they first meet them. Thus, we looked for answers to such characteristics as name, gender, age, dressing style, and typical hangout places.
After surveying 5 people, it seems that in general, our respondents seem to view Kit Kat as a male between the ages of 18 – 30 years old. This tends to cover the stressful years of university and early working years. As a person, he seems to have simple, boy-next-door name, like Tom, Michael, or Jack. Keeping in line with this image, his dressing sense is also quite casual and laid back with jeans and simple t-shirts being the clothing of choice.
While there is agreement among our respondents that our character will hang out with other youngsters, there is some disagreement among them as to the kind of friends they will hang out with and the activities they would do together. On one end, we have a respondent identifying our character’s long-time friends as being boring and lacking in ambition and usually doing unproductive things. And on the other hand, we have a respondent who feels that our character would be relaxing in front of the TV watching sports games or going out for fun activities such as bowling or paintball with his friends. There are also some who think that our character is better off spending time at a café or clubbing.
